From Weeks of Waiting to Instant Results
Previously, Ted provided Excel lists, which Elburg-Smit then manually used to adjust the designs for flower bulb packaging. Then came the waiting—sometimes up to a week. "And yes, it was still human work, so mistakes happened occasionally."
Nowadays, Ted uploads his Excel data file into EOS himself and immediately sees the result. "Something not right? I adjust it immediately." This speed is a game-changer, especially given the massive quantities he processes. "I work with about 30 different product lines, including cappers, shields, and labels, sometimes with more than 300 variations per product line. Without EOS, that would be impossible." For complex products—with many variable color options, icons, and logos—it is essential to work accurately with Excel.
We Can Make Adjustments Ourselves
Another major advantage? We can make adjustments ourselves in EOS. "Zoom in on an image a bit more, move it slightly, or add a slogan? In the past, this would go back and forth endlessly via email or phone. Now, we just log in and adjust it ourselves—even from the United States! While I’m asleep, my colleagues in the US make the changes remotely. When I log in the next morning, the adjustments are done, and I can continue right away. So, it works very efficiently." According to an American colleague, EOS is "the best thing since sliced bread!"
A Must-Have If You Want to Save Time
What would Ted say to companies that don’t use EOS yet? Laughing, he jokes: "To my competitors, I’d say: ‘don’t do it,’ but to all other companies, I would highly recommend it. This saves so much time—it’s a real advantage for our business."
